Authority & Legal Basis Independent Accreditation. Public Accountability.
The International Accrediting Commission for Digital Education is a legally organized, independent private quality-assurance organization operating through published standards, institutional consent, professional peer review, formal Commission action, continuing compliance, and public disclosure.
Lawful Organization. Clearly Defined Capacity.
The International Accrediting Commission for Digital Education, LLC is organized under the laws of the State of New Mexico as a domestic limited liability company. Its corporate registration establishes its legal existence and capacity to conduct its lawful organizational activities, enter agreements, adopt standards and policies, maintain records, and operate an independent private quality-assurance system.
IACDE accreditation is private, voluntary and non-regulatory. Institutions elect to enter the accreditation process, submit themselves to published standards and review procedures, and accept the jurisdiction of the Commission for purposes of candidacy, accreditation, monitoring, renewal and other status determinations.

Verify with the New Mexico Secretary of StateWhat the State Record Establishes — and What It Does Not.
Credibility requires a precise distinction between corporate registration and governmental recognition of accreditation. IACDE makes that distinction expressly.
The Public Record Establishes
- The legal existence of the registered New Mexico entity.
- Its state of formation and entity classification.
- Its public state record and business identifiers.
- Its current active status as reflected in the state record.
- Its registered agent and statutory service information.
The Public Record Does Not Represent
- State approval or endorsement of any accreditation decision.
- Delegation of governmental licensing or regulatory power.
- Recognition by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Recognition by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
- A representation that the registered-agent address is a physical campus or staffed public office.
Private Authority Exercised Through Standards, Consent and Governance.
IACDE does not exercise sovereign or governmental regulatory authority. Its accreditation jurisdiction exists within a voluntary private quality-assurance relationship created when an eligible institution elects to apply, accepts applicable standards and procedures, submits evidence for evaluation, and participates in the Commission’s review system.
Institutional Consent
Participation is voluntary. Applicant institutions affirmatively seek review and agree to the standards, evidence requirements, procedures, monitoring and status conditions governing participation.
Published Standards
Institutional and programmatic judgments are made against published criteria addressing mission, governance, academic quality, learner outcomes, resources, integrity, transparency and continuing improvement.
Commission Action
Accreditation status is determined through documented review procedures that include institutional evidence, self-study, professional evaluation and formal Commission decision-making.
Accreditation Is an Institutional Process, Not the Decision of a Single Individual.
The framework separates strategic leadership, institutional administration, professional evaluation, advisory functions, quality assurance and formal accreditation decision-making. Accreditation decisions are governed by the Commission’s adopted standards, policies and procedures rather than the credentials or discretion of any single founder, executive, consultant or reviewer.
Eligibility & Application Review
Initial institutional information is reviewed for eligibility, scope and readiness before an applicant advances through the applicable accreditation pathway.
Institutional Self-Study
Institutions address applicable standards through a formal self-study supported by documentary and operational evidence.
Professional Peer Evaluation
Qualified professionals examine institutional evidence and provide findings within the scope of the review.
Commission Determination
The Commission considers the record and determines candidacy, accreditation or other status under the governing standards and procedures.
Continuing Compliance
Accreditation is not treated as a permanent one-time award. Ongoing reporting, annual review, renewal and compliance obligations support continuing accountability.
Due Process
Published complaint, conflict-of-interest, confidentiality, withdrawal and appeal procedures provide safeguards for fairness and integrity.
Depth of Experience Across Education, Quality Assurance and Digital Learning.
IACDE’s leadership, advisory, peer-review and professional networks are intentionally multidisciplinary. Publicly available professional biographies collectively document well over a century of experience across education, institutional leadership, technology, professional training, public policy, workforce development and digital learning.
The professional community supporting IACDE includes holders of doctoral, master’s, business, education, public-health, technology, engineering and other advanced professional credentials. Experience spans higher education, K–20 education, graduate and professional learning, workforce and continuing education, institutional administration, curriculum, online and distance education, governance, quality assurance, educational technology and accreditation- related work.
Public Rules Governing the Exercise of Accreditation Authority.
Authority is meaningful only when it is constrained by published rules. IACDE maintains public standards and procedural safeguards addressing ethics, conflicts, confidentiality, complaints, appeals, continuing compliance, privacy and termination of status.
Transparency About Independent Accreditation.
IACDE distinguishes clearly between private accreditation, state corporate registration, governmental authorization and formal recognition of accrediting organizations.
IACDE is not currently recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
IACDE accreditation therefore must not be represented as equivalent to accreditation by a CHEA- or U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting organization.
IACDE accreditation does not, by itself, confer eligibility for U.S. federal student financial aid, professional licensure, governmental authorization or any other benefit for which a particular form of recognized accreditation is legally required.
Acceptance of accreditation, academic credit, degrees, certificates and institutional credentials remains subject to the independent policies of receiving institutions, employers, licensing authorities, governmental agencies and applicable jurisdictions.
Do Not Rely on Claims. Verify the Record.
IACDE encourages institutions, students, regulators, employers, partners and members of the public to examine original records, published standards and current status information directly.

Accreditation Does Not Supersede Applicable Law.
Each institution remains responsible for determining and maintaining the governmental approvals, registrations, licenses, exemptions, professional authorizations and other permissions required in every jurisdiction in which it operates or enrolls learners.
Home-Jurisdiction Compliance
Institutions remain responsible for legal authority to operate and award credentials under their own national, state, provincial or local requirements.
Professional Licensure
Accreditation does not substitute for approval from a professional licensing board or other specialized regulator when such approval is legally required.
Credential Acceptance
Transfer, recognition and acceptance of credentials remain subject to the rules of the receiving institution, employer, regulator or jurisdiction.
